St. George’s Crypt | Press and Media Campaign
Introduction
A well-known homeless charity based in Leeds, St. George’s Crypt chose Clearsilver to pull together a communications campaign to raise awareness of the charity and position it amongst the country’s most renowned homeless charities.
Objectives
- Create a comprehensive portfolio of media activity to promote the Crypt’s calendar of events
- Increase awareness both regionally and nationally
- Create positive partnerships between a broad range of organisations
- Generate new supporters for St George’s Crypt and reinvigorate donations from existing/ past supporters
- Promote St George’s Crypt events and activities in advance
- Generate positive media coverage at all times, in both regional and national media
- Continuously present St George’s Crypt as a trusted, deserving charity
- Promote the ‘localness’ of St George’s Crypt at all times and to all audiences
- Promote the calendar of events and individual occasions as required and to the specific target audience
Implementation
- Clearsilver developed a press campaign that covered all the activities and news from St. George’s Crypt.
- The development of regular press releases and features for regional, national, and charity press increased coverage across a broad selection of media.
- Clearsilver helped St. Georges Crypt plan and develop numerous events including:
- Thank you event for major sponsor – Pret A Manger
- Visit of the Duke of Gloucester
- Placement visit of Shipley MP Philip Davies
- Day filming with BBC Politics
Results
- St Georges Crypt have enjoyed a vast pick up from a broad range of media including regional, national and broadcast (the BBC, Calendar and numerous national and regional radio programmes),
- Clearsilver have achieved over £101,500 worth of positive media coverage in only a matter of months for the charity.
- Clearsilver have also helped St. George’s Crypt further develop working relationships with partners Barclays, Yorkshire Bank and sandwich giants Prêt A Manger.
