The City of Leeds Youth Orchestra (CYLO) has gone from strength to strength in 2009, and with a reputation as one of the leading ensembles of its kind in the country, CYLO needed a brand new website to reflect this popularity and demand.
Dougie Scarfe, Principle Conductor said "Our new website has provided us with the perfect platform to showcase the work of CLYO and we love the fact that visitors are able to listen to our performances. Clearsilver have captured the very essence of who we are to deliver an easy to use, interesting and interactive site of which we are very proud."
Clearsilver designed and created the new-look website so that fans of CYLO far and wide can keep up with activities and access information. The site is a must have for music-lovers and includes information on upcoming performances, the orchestra's repertoire and staff and member profiles. Visitors to the site can even browse the gallery of photographs and listen to previous show performances.
Cambridge University Jazz Orchestra (CUJO) is dedicated to providing a forum for musical innovation in Cambridge and needed a new website and branding to replicate the orchestra's committal to its classical roots yet exciting foray into new musical territories.
Orchestra director Nick Sutcliffe, says "CUJO's reputation has grown and the number of performances increased rapidly over the last 12 months so it was imperative for us to have a clear, strong brand identity. Clearsilver designed a new logo and identity for CUJO that is colourful yet contemporary, maintaining and reflecting the feel of a University Big Band and this has received very positive feedback."
In addition to this, Clearsilver designed and produced a new website for CUJO which features music samples, band member profiles and gallery shots from the latest concerts and events.
Louise Leach, MD says, "There is a very eclectic mix of tastes within the Clearsilver team but whether that's Metallica, Friendly Fires or choral choirs we are all incredibly passionate about music. Working with our music clients is a great labour of love and has led to us becoming patrons of CLYO, which provides fantastic support for young musicians from all backgrounds in Leeds, and CUJO."
Clearsilver also created the promotional material and PR campaign for Becks and the Bullets, a Leeds-based ska-influenced band who have worked with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson and Groove Armada. The hotly tipped up-and-coming band wanted to launch both regionally and nationally and asked Clearsilver to develop an innovative range of materials to promote their upcoming gigs and festival availability.
Clearsilver designed a unique range of stationary and folders to reflect the individuality of the band, including letterheads, CD's and business cards. This bespoke range of print materials ensured the band stood out amongst their competitors and has resulted in a 20 gig booking for a chain of London bars.
