Harvey Nichols Art Event

Clearsilver approached Harvey Nichols to put on an exhibition for autumn 2011 with prominent artist, Dudley Edwards, who made his name in the 1960s on the swinging London art scene. Dudley joined fashion powerhouse, Harvey Nichols in Leeds, for a season of beautiful art including an auction event which took place on the 13th September. The series of photographic prints explores the form of the dancers at Northern Ballet in rehearsals for the performance of Romeo and Juliet.

The event was a huge success, raising nearly £4,000 for local charity Friends of Alfie Martin; founded to improve facilities for new born babies requiring urgent neonatal equipment and transportation facilities.

Dudley Edwards said: “I am so pleased that the event has managed to raise such a phenomenal amount of money for Friends of Alfie Martin, a fantastic local charity working hard to improve facilities for ill babies in Yorkshire.”

Fiona Martin, founder of Friends of Alfie Martin said: “On behalf of the charity I would like to thank everyone that came along to support us. Having exceeded our fundraising target, we are thrilled to be able to put the money towards state of the art equipment to help save the lives of critically ill babies.”

Dudley’s collection is on sale at Harvey Nichols until mid-November. To find out more, please visit www.harveynichols.com or for more information on the charity please visit www.thefriendsofalfiemartin.co.uk
