The Variety Club wanted to update the website to appeal to a wider range of people and develop fundraising opportunities in its 60th year
What did we do...
Redesigned the site with an eye catching and bright style, including flash animation on the home page to show video highlights of recent events and promote current campaigns. Most importantly we built the ‘back-end' of the website to enable the Variety Club to update it regularly themselves, keeping the site fresh so encouraging return visits to see what's new.
We also added in a 'share' feature to allow users to link to social networking pages such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Bebo.
Results
Since launching in January 2009 traffic to the site has increased by 56% (based on traffic in the same period for 2008). Third Sector magazine said the site's new design features "...make an instant impression" and that the new navigation style "...makes the site easy to use."
Claire Horton, COO at the Variety Club says
"...The design and usability answer all our objectives, embody the true image of the charity, and the launch is a perfect reflection of the work the Variety Club has undertaken and continues to undertake into its 60th year."
