Lick Group MD Named Entrepreneur of the Year at National Business Awards Ceremony 10/08/2008

Linden Kitson, MD of Yorkshire-based direct mail and print fulfilment company the Lick Group scooped a top business accolade last night, when he was named as Credit Suisse ‘Entrepreneur of the Year‘ at the prestigious National Business Awards sponsored by Orange, in a ceremony held at the ACC in Liverpool.

The Lick Group has created a unique proposition since 2002 under Linden’s direction. Now offering a range of services for clients across its three divisions; Lick Direct, Lick Digital and Lick Online.

Linden has created and built each of the three profitable individual Lick brands and has increased his expertise and experience, investing in both human resouces and technology to make each division extremely profitable. As Group MD, Linden has employed innovative techniques and built a unique business culture to develop and win new business and to drive awareness of the Lick Group.

The Lick Group are constantly striving to live up to their ‘whatever it takes’ motto with 100% accuracy and 100% delivery on every job. Both the acquisition of Lick Digital and the Lick Online business were developed as direct responses to customer demand.

Lick Online now delivers a turnover of £600,000 and in the first 2 months of trading, the team at Lick Digital have increased turnover by over 100% – all successes which have contributed to Linden winning The Credit Suisse National Business Awards Top Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Linden is delighted at the win, and believes there are key reasons for the success of his business. “Having worked in some of the biggest agencies in the country I realised, from the client-side, that production partners were not fully matching my expectations on every project”. Linden commented, “the reason I set up Lick was to create a direct mail fulfilment and print solutions company that clients would love to work with time and again. The National Business Awards judges were especially impressed with Linden, remarking he was an ‘“extremely forward thinking individual, who had led his company down an innovative and obviously successful route”.
