This week, Harewood House, opened its doors to celebrate the Christmas season for the first time since 2012. And, to help spread the word, Clearsilver were appointed to ensure everyone in the region knew that there was a very different stately home offering to add to the festive mix this year.
In true Clearsilver style, we excitedly interrogated the brief for ‘A Victorian Christmas at Harewood’ and started working on a plan to engage and inspire media, bloggers and key influencers using both PR and social media. Getting enthusiastic about the project wasn’t difficult considering the content included the set designer from ITV drama, ‘Victoria’, Father Christmas like you’ve never seen him before, music, crafts, Twilight Tours and a whole host more!
With time of the essence, we drafted our plans for an exclusive media event, a festive photo-call, social content, and penned our invite-list for suitable bloggers and online influencers to review the event. With lots to talk about, a full press release and event listings were written, and we hit the phones to make sure we could deliver. And deliver we did!
Four days into the House being open to the public and we’ve secured over 10 minutes of BBC and ITV broadcast coverage, two front cover magazine features, editorial spreads, numerous online mentions, local and regional radio interviews, and an abundance of ‘what’s on’ listing mentions. So, it’s not surprising that there’s been a surge in web traffic and a spike in social interaction and engagement. To top it all – and let’s be honest, it’s why were appointed – the coverage has converted into bookings.
