It’s not everyday that an artistic legend exhibits his collection in Yorkshire, and from Saturday 14th September until Saturday 5th October 2019 the renowned Dudley Edwards - famed for his vibrant and psychedelic pop art, which won over the likes of The Beatles, Peter Gabriel and Fats Domino, to name just a few - showcased some never before seen artworks at the RedHouse Originals Gallery in Harrogate.
Although it was his first solo exhibition with the gallery since his 2012, Dudley Edwards is no stranger to Yorkshire - he was born and bred in Halifax and studied and taught at Bradford College, School of Art. Forging his career in London in the 60s, living and working with Paul McCartney and Ringo starr during the recording of the iconic Sgt. Pepper’s album, Dudley has since returned to live and create his new works in the Yorkshire Dales.
It was our privilege to lend our PR skills to drive awareness and attendance for the exhibition with the public and media alike, and boy did we deliver!
‘Dudley Edwards: I Got Rhythm’ was a roaring success, featuring paintings, drawings, prints and photographs taking inspiration from some of the art world’s greats, including Picasso, Degas and Matisse, with rhythm playing a unifying theme between his works.
With so much scope for PR exposure, we set to work identifying key local, regional and national media, as well as specialist titles in arts, music and interiors.
We were delighted to secure key interview coverage of Dudley Edwards with the Yorkshire Post magazine and online, and a multitude of online and print article interest and features with news and magazines including Record Collector, the Bradford Telegraph & Argus, the Halifax Courier, and many more!
