Media coverage galore for Clearsilver’s charity clients!

What a week it’s been for Clearsilver Charity Marketing! A BBC radio interview, two national magazine articles, a full page feature in the Yorkshire Post, and a photo-call with one of the leading professional cycling teams. All in a week’s work for our amazing charity clients.

The week began with our PR team doing what they do best – picking up on an amazing fundraising story and turning it into a great piece of awareness raising media-coverage. Gift (the Gastroparesis & Intestinal Failure Trust) is a relatively new charity – set up in 2012 – and focuses on patient support and fundraising for research. One of their fundraisers, Julia Llewellyn, will be running 100km – from London to Brighton – to raise awareness of the condition currently affecting her two-year-old nephew. Within a couple of days, Clearsilver picked up the story, put all the facts, figures, quotes and pictures together, and contacted the regional media. Within 24hours an interview was arranged with the Yorkshire Post and the following day this was the result: an amazing full page article in the Yorkshire Post and a half-page in the Yorkshire Evening Post. More articles are scheduled to feature next week.

From running to cycling, Wednesday saw me head off to Ilkley’s Box Tree to welcome Tour de Yorkshire pro-cycling team, NFTO. The team were cycling with the restaurant’s Michelin-starred head chef and owner, Simon Gueller, who will take on his own challenge later this year when he rides the Tour de France route to raise money for Cure Leukaemia. Before the ride, Clearsilver secured an interview for Simon – and pro-cyclist Tom Barras from NFTO – on Liz Green’s BBC Radio Leeds breakfast show. You can find out more about Simon’s challenge here:

You may have seen our recent announcement that Clearsilver is managing the media outreach for The Haven’s RHS Chelsea Garden. Well, this week, the coverage just keeps on flowering (sorry!) with two more national magazine nibs in Gardens Illustrated and The English Garden. With only 16 days to go until an expected 165,000 visitors descend on the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more media mentions about the #BreastCancerHavenGarden.
