The final Girls Go Gold logo identity echoes the main GSA brand principles whilst evoking achievement with the gold star graphic. The design is distinctive without being compromised by the addition of the event host logo. It also has the desired versatility to evolve when the host event logo is replaced on an annual basis. An adjunct to the main logo was created for other Inter-School Events, using the same star graphic but in different GSA brand colours.
To ensure consistency and correct usage of the new identity we also produced a comprehensive set of brand guidelines.
From the beginning we wanted the identity to have a generic symbol that is representative of achievement and success. Given that the name includes the word ‘Gold’ we initially explored using visuals of medals, rosettes and other associated sporting iconography before settling on a gold star.
For continuity with the main GSA brand we incorporated the GSA logo, primary colours, and fonts. The style of the star with it’s angular two tone design was inspired by GSA’s multi-coloured zig-zag graphic. Strong consideration also needed to be given to how and where the event host logo would be positioned. Using a portion of the star effectively frames all the elements and holds it all together.
Create an identity for GSA’s Girls Go Gold school event. This is an event to inspire and inform year 10-13 athletes, sports enthusiasts and students interested in a sports-related career.
The identity should incorporate some reference to being part of the GSA and have the ability to incorporate the event host’s logo that will change on an annual basis.
